The CRU Hack

Before anyone spending the rest of the weekend shitting themselves over the climate change email archive hack, consider the following:
More interesting is what is not contained in the emails. There is no evidence of any worldwide conspiracy, no mention of George Soros nefariously funding climate research, no grand plan to ‘get rid of the MWP’, no admission that global warming is a hoax, no evidence of the falsifying of data, and no ‘marching orders’ from our socialist/communist/vegetarian overlords. The truly paranoid will put this down to the hackers also being in on the plot though.
That will be all.

Are you kidding? I've read them! Threatening to delete data to avoid freedom of information. We deserve a fully open public review of the raw unedited data to be looked over by the scientific community. If they have nothing to hide than this shouldn't be a problem.

There's also no evidence in the e-mails that the Earth is a spheroid instead of flat, that organized crime actually exists, or that the Earth revolves around the Sun instead of the other way around. Does that mean those things aren't true, and that additionally we should ignore the evidence that is there? Really, that's the flimsiest defense I've ever read.

If you're going to claim that there's a "conspiracy" the burden of proof is on you, and there is nothing in the emails that comes anywhere near suggesting as much.

The end.
